The RSA Art for Architecture scheme significantly extended collaborative practice between artists and architects during its thirteen year life span. It developed a reputation for funding international artists as well as emerging practitioners. Jes Fernie was director of the scheme from 1998 - 2003 during which time artists and architects such as Alex de Rijke, Michael Craig-Martin, Katherine Clarke, Nathan Coley, David Adjaye and Keith Wilson worked on collaborations funded through the scheme.

Two Minds, artists and architects in collaboration, edited by Jes Fernie and published by Black Dog in 2006, provides a detailed analysis of collaborative practice and a selection of projects funded through the scheme.
